Question

Dear Mr. Anonymous, The letter which you refer to, the so called psak halacha signed by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef has been discussed on this website repeatedly. The process which was described to the FORMER Rishon L'Zion is not the same process which is explained by Rabbi Abadi. I have not, by the way seen any such proclamation by the PRESENT Rishon L'Zion nor have I seen any such statements by the former Rishon L'Zion who preceded the present Rishon L'Zion. I have not seen any such proclamation by the Syrian Chief Rabbi, nor have I seen any such ruling by the Rosh Yeshiva of the Sheheber Institute which trains hundreds of sofrim. In fact I have not seen such proclamations from a great number of Chief Rabbis and Roshei Yeshiva of various communities. Perhaps there is a reason for this. Meanwhile, most of us are quite busy trying to prepare for Pesah properly and Rabbi Abadi is very gracious to help us all have a happy and kosher Pesah. If you are not interested in the psak of Rabbi Abadi, I am sure that you can find a website that caters more closely to your idea of what Judaism really is. Maybe if you are sure that others who read your posts will agree with you, you will not be ashamed to state your name. My mother always taught me that I had a good name and that I shouldn't do anything to make it "bad" nor should I ever do anything that I felt I needed to do "anonymously" because obviously that must be something that I am ashamed of. All the best wishes for a Hag Kasher v'Sameah
