Arak

Question

Is Arak kosher for Passover for Ashkenazim, or is it kitniyot? The brands I have is Yekev HaGalil. It says Kosher L'Pesach on it. I am confused because the Carmel Wines website says that all their products are Kosher L'Pesach, and they produce Arak. However, I saw that anise is considered kitniyot.
