Astrology
Question
Is it wrong to learn astrology. On your forums here you talk about the rabbi's studying it. When I say learning it, I mean for the sole purpose of understanding one's character and disposition, and not for future divination, which is impossible anyways, since we always have a choice to make. I have learned quite a bit about myself from the placement of my 'planets', and it was more accurate than I really thought it would be. I am interested in your comments.

Answered by Aaron AbadiIf you were able to learn it from reliable sources it would be fine. If anything, many of our Rabbis studied it. The big problem is that learning Torah is exclusively and primarily for knowing how to act and what is right or wrong. If you did not finish learning all that, how can you devote time to astrology? I wish I had the time to devote to astrology. AA
