batel beshishim

Question

Rabbi, I recently heard that when it comes to grape juice and wine, there is doubt that batel beshishim applies: if there is even a drop of wine or grape juice, there is possibility that the food or drink is no longer kosher. I noticed that you wrote that when it comes to grape juice or wine, if there is less than 1/6, it is not a problem. I heard that even less than 1/60 may be a problem. Why is there such a difference of opinion?

Some people just don't know anything.... Shulchan Aruch is very clear. It says 1/6th. That person might have confused our wine which is "Yayin Stam" meaning plain wine, wine that we buy from a non-Jew, but do not know specifically that it was sacrificed to idols, he may have confused that with "Yayin Nesech" which is wine that we know was sacrificed to idols. Of course, there isn't much of that type today. .....Or maybe he just made it up...... AA
