BLECH

Question

My blech (the metal sheet I put over the stove top to keep foods warm on Shabbat) has a hole in it right over the spot where I keep the fire on. The hole is about the size of a fingernail. If you look through the hole you can actually see the fire. Do I have to buy a new blech? If so, can I cover the entire blech with heavy duty foil until I get to a store?
