Question

My father told me once that I am supposed to say amen, after I say "baruch chai haolamim" on blessing of thanks. Have I heard wrong, or do you know something about this from anywhere? Thanks!

There is a Gemara about this issue in Berachos, but we don't say Amen to our own Brachos. (except in the few places during Davening, that is in the Siddur - for Sephardim and many Ashkenazim) CYA
