Bracha livatala

Question

If I start an unrequired bracha and I say Elokeynu why can't I rectify what I have done by by saying a passuk who's first two words are Hashem Elokaynu? And it would be as if I said "Baruch Atta" and then finishing with a full passuk. Yet the mishnah berurah does not say this rectification works.
