Question

Dear Rabbi, The degrees proof, as in Cognac which is 80, is in fact, in the USA, a number that is twice the alcohol content, in this case 40% by volume. In Europe the use a slightly diffent scale. ie, 100 % Alcohol = 200 degrees proof( in USA) 100% Alcohol = 175 degrees proof( in UK). Just boozers trivia that might be useful to somebody out there!!
