Buckwheat

Question

What is the status of buckwheat on Pesah? It is technically a vegetable in the rhubarb family, but used as a grain as in kasha. Corn, which is a grain that is used as a vegetable, is still considered a grain and kitniyot for ashkenazim. Is buckwheat to be treated as a vegetable and allowed for both sephardim and ashkenazim?

Sephardim can & should enjoy it. Ashkenazim have so many interpretations of their Kitniyos Minhag, I wouldn't attempt to get involved. 80% of what they avoid is not part of the original Minhag. AA
