bugs in water

Question

there is a rumor that there are bugs in the new york water supply and therefor some type of straining should be required please advise asap thanks mordechai s

If you see the bugs then strain it. I am willing to bet that the bugs are the ones that are not visible without a microscope which do not make food assur. CYA
