bugs on shabbat

Question

may one check the lettuce for bugs on ahabbat. If he finds one can he just remove the bug or should he remove the whole leaf 2)can you soak the lettuce on shabbat so that the bugs float to the top or do these cases involve borer and need to be done before shabbat? thanks

1) Just brush it off under the sink. 2) The bugs don't necessarily float to the top. AA
