Can Opener

Question

I work in Israel in an office with other Jews some of whom are not shomer shabbat. There is a joint kitchen. May I use a can opener that everyone uses. It is unlikely that any non-kosher canned goods are opened with it since it is hard to come by non-kosher canned goods in Israel. Even assuming that there was some occassional contact with simething treif can I use it? -BL
