candlelight on yom tov

Question

Dear Rabbi, You previously said that lighting candles on Yom Tov is prohibited if the electric lights are on. Understood, the candles become pointless. But could one say that candlelight will beautify the Yom Tov table and add Simcha to the Chag? Thank you.

Yes, but that does not allow for a Beracha LeVatalah (a blessing in vain). And it does not permit you to make a fire on Yom Tov (Holiday). AA
