Candles on Y'T

Question

Would Oneg be a valid reason to light candles on second night of Yom Tov? On Shabbat I say the bracha on the lights but then I light a lot of candles because it looks nice on the table. Please can you explain why we don't make a bracha on the second night of Y'T? I understand that we don't light candles for that but why not on the new day? Why was it said at all when people used candles?
