Cards and Sefer Torah
Question
Does the issur of borer apply to playing cards? Also, you wrote that many rabbis were thrilled about the idea of a silk screen sefer torah. Could you please list some of these rabbis? Thanks for all your time.

Answered by Aaron Abadi1) My fathers response was, "why not?," clearly meaning that we cannot play cards. This is new to me. Thank you for bringing it up. 2) Rabbi Kreiswirth A"H loved it, Rabbi Pinchas Scheinberg told many people, including members of a Kollel in Monsey that it is 100% Kosher, only his son keeps coming over and saying "we're not responding to the silk screen issue until after Rav Elyashiv says his opinion." Rav Elyashiv told people that halachically it's Kosher, but he might not want to officially approve, because of the politics it will create. Rav Elyashiv circle all said it's 100% Kosher, including Rabbi Efrati & his son-in-law, Rav Azriel Aurbach. Rabbi Nuewirth of Bayit Vegan, the author of Shmirat Shabbat Kehilchata, loved it so much, that he made them come back to repeat the demonstration many times. Rav Asher Weiss was fascinated by it, but reserved his decision while he pondered one issue. Rabbi Yechezkel Roth felt it was halachically OK, but suggested it be used only in more modern communities. Rabbi Tuvia Goldstien loved it so much, that he brought his entire Kollel to see it, and he invited my father to give a Shiur on it for him and his Kollel. And the list goes on, and on.....
