chairs on the ground

Question

Isn't the chair going into the ground when you sit on it a pesik reisha d'lo nicha lay, and therefore muttar? You clearly don't care if the the chair goes into the ground or not, you just want to sit in the chair. Chag Sameach

Nicha ley, means you want the hole. You want the hole, so that the chair sits level. The melacha of Chofer (tolda of Choresh) is you want the hole, not the dirt from the hole. When you sit and the chair is uneven, you will lean that direction to level it out. CYA
