Chametz

Question

I had a question: Do you and/or your father maintain that something that is not edible for humans, but is edible for dogs is still assur as far as chametz? This is what the gemara says. Assuming the above is true, I once saw my dog eating play-doh. No joke. He ate it all up. Does that mean that play-doh, which is chametz, would be assur to own on pesach? Thanks
