Chanukah gifts

Question

Would you be so kind as to educate me to Chanukah gifts? Your Halacha’s of Chanukah section omits any mention of gift giving. Is the widely accepted custom of Chanukah gifts as illegitimate as the Chanukah bush or is it a real custom, sourced in our rabbinic writings? Thank You

It is not sourced in Jewish Law, but there is nothing wrong with giving gifts. AA
