cheese

Question

Did there used to be a problem with Miller's cheese? If so, what was it and how has it been corrected?

I remember meeting David Cohen in Israel over 20 years ago. He was the original owner of Miller's cheese. I asked him then about the Gevinat Akum (cheese of a non-jew), and he wasn't aware of the difference between that and Chalav Akum (milk of a non-Jew). I think the OU didn't either know the difference till years later. Hechsherim are based on policy. These policies are often similar to the Halachah. They feel that Halachah should be left to the Poskim, and Kashrut should be left to them. Most people bought that garbage. Is there anyone out there still thinking on their own? Hello?! AA
