chol hamoed

Question

Do u have to wear shabbos/ dress clothes on chol hamoed? I know that it is a nice thing to do but i was wondering if it is a halacha and if i dont do it am i being over a halacha?

No. But we try to dress and act as nice as we can on Chol HaMoed in honor of the Holiday. Even more so on Hoshana Rabah (day 7). Everything in moderation & with common sense. But there is clearly no requirement. AA
