cicadas

Question

with the imminent invastion of 17-year cicadas on the East Coast, I was wondering about whether these- or any types of - insects are considered kosher by ashkenazim, sephardim, teymanim, or other groups. My understanding is that only teymanim eat certain types of insects. if so, why is that? the Torah lists several types of kosher insects. thanks.
