confectioner's glaze

Question

Is the ingredient called confectioner's glaze considered to be kosher? I am told that it is essentially shellac and can be derived from a secretion of a certain type of beetle. Thanks.

Yes it is Kosher. Taste Shellac and tell me if it is edible. AA
