cooking before pesach

Question

Dear R. Abadi, Thank you for your hard work. Recently Henry asked a question reguarding cooking before Pesach. My understanding is acording to Shulchan Aruch that it is mutar to cook for pesach in a clean pot that has not been coshered for pesach yet. If there were any chames it would be batel. Is that wrong? It is OK. But I recommend to Kasher it, because if you play with things in these areas, you'll end up making a mistake and possibly recooking half of your food. Especially since it is so simple to Kasher. The simplest way to kasher a pot is to put it on the fire with nothing in it. After a few minutes, it starts to almost burn. It reaches a point where if there was any flavor absorbed, it certainly burnt to a point where it is inedible and probably gone. You do this often now. You put up a frying pan to make an omelet. You turn the flame on and run for the Pam. Then the phone rings or someone calls out to you. A minute later, your frying pan is almost burning. You run and turn off the flame, and take on a renewed resolution not to put the flame on until the Pam is there. You have just Kashered this pot with real 100% Libun. No need to wait 24 hours. AA
