Cooking on Yom Tov

Question

Would you mind going over the basics (in intricate detail of course) regarding cooking on Yom Tov? To the extent that it matters I have an electric stove and an electric oven which is a pre shabbos-mode model and shuts off after 12 hours of use. I do have an array of other electric appliances (crockpots, toaster ovens, etc.) which could be used on timers if permitted. Thanks!

If the oven shuts itself, you can turn it back on in the morning. AA
