cruise boats and yomtov

Question

if a cuise boat docks somewhere on a yomtov occuring on a weekday, can one get off the boat. i have always been told that not on shabbat but i dont know the din for yom tov, and i dont know if techum aplies on yom tov assuming that is the din for shabbat. first day second day yom tov would that be an issue? thank you
