cumin

Question

I read an article in this week's Jewish Press, saying that the Sephardic Chief Rabbi has banned the commercial production and sale of kosher for Passover cumin. "This is the first time that the Rabbinate forbade the sale of cumin on Passover becuase it says recent laboratory tests revealed that the sifting process does not eliminate all traces of oats." I buy the Pereg brand of cumin, that comes from Israel. If I am going on the assumption that oats are not forbidden on Passover, could I use this kemun?
