DISHWASHER!

Question

Shalom. - My apartment came with a dishwasher; the people before us did not keep kosher. Since then it has not been used at all for just over One year. What needs to be done so that we can use the dishwasher for milk and or meat dishes?? I will add for comment's sake that I am ashkenazik :) ... Thank you!
