Answer
Answered by Rabbi Abadi1) you can certainly clean dishes in honor of having a clean home for Shabbat. You can also set your dishwasher on a timer, so that you don't need to work cleaning dishes. ---------------------------- In my research on other sites I saw that they assured it because: 1) "Avashta milta" : noise on shabbat. Our DW certainly makes les noise than our a/c. Is that a problem? 2) They say the Hazon Ish shita is that closing a circuit even when there is no electricity . Supposedly there is a safety mechanism in the door that the DW will operate if the door is closed. PS: I know the Halacha of “Hanishal lehaham ve-assar, lo Yisha’al lehaham veyatir”. I not second-guessing just pursue this intellectually.
