Distilled Vinegar

Question

Now I'm confused about the vinegar thing. In a previous post you said that distilled vinegar is OK. Then in the hot sauce post you say that distilled vinegar is not OK. Heinz ketchup has distilled vinegar as well. So it's OK in ketchup but not in hot sauce? Also, the ingredients in Heinz Distilled White Vinegar are "sun ripened grain....". So what is the deal with the vinegar?
