Driving to Lakewood

Question

I would have thought that the bus driver could continue driving because 1. It was so cold that they couldn't walk without there being a sakanah. 2. Isn't it a shevut bi-mkom mitzvah (the mitzvah beings spending Shabbat with family, having seudot, keriat ha-torah etc.) I am assuming driving is a shevut rather than a de-Oraita. Any thoughts?

1) Drive to a nice warm hotel in Freehold. 2) It's Shevut Deshvut bemokom Mitzvah. Can we do all Derabanans with that excuse. AA
