Eggs in a pot

Question

My wife is Ashkenazi and she tell me must have odd number of eggs to cook in a pot. Is this a bubbameisa as she say to me from her Savta or is there really a source for this? My wife father also have trouble with me wear my watch when I put on Tefillin. I say to him like Ben from Tunis, This is the way my family do it for one hundred years. Why you want me to change to be like you? I not tell him to be like me.
