Question

If you live on a high floor do you have to ask the goy before ShHabbat to press the button when he sees you, or can you even ask him to do it on Shabbat

On Shabbat is fine. Three floors up is high enough to be OK. An older person can even do it for one floor. Any person can go into an elevator and just get off at the floor the non-Jew is going to. AA
