Employee on Holiday

Question

Dear Rabbi Abadi, If one owns a small business (accountant lawyer or doctor) with one non Jewish employee are they required to close the business on the holiday like Sucoth or Yom Kippur etc? Does it matter if the employee is paid by the hour or salary? Thank you very much. Tizku LeShanim Rabot Sam

You cannot hire the person to work for Shabbat or Holidays. You can allow your office employees to come in on the Shabbat & Holidays if they want to, in order to catch up on work. But your official position should be "we are closed." AA
