Eruv

Question

Can you explain a bit why your father's view of Eruvin is different than so many other rabbanim. I am sure that it's not simply a question of safek deoraita le-chumra because the other poskim don't regard this as conclusive.

Look at the Mishna Berura on this. Look at the Aruch Hashulchan. The Mechaber (Maran) in Shulchan Aruch says Assur. In this particular opinion, my father is with the majority. Today's Rabbis live to accomodate their communities, so if everyone wants an Eiruv, they get an Eiruv. Let's be honest. AA
