1. There is no problem. I changed the post that you are asking about. I guess I had a knee jerk reaction to the question before. Filter is borrer- but not always) 2. It is the same as a timer for lights, a/c, etc. CYA --------------------------------------- I guess my question relates also to the one I have just posted about using a timer for the dishwasher. The water in the coffee machine is presumably cold, so is it permitted to heat it up on Shabbos itself, even with a timer? (My understanding is that only solid foods that have already been cooked may be reheated on Shabbos).
