fish and milk, revisited

Question

Kavod HaRav, I know you've answered the fish and milk question before, but would you give a tiny bit of detail to your answer as to why its permissable for all Jews to eat them together? I'm asking for this because I would like to be able to site a source to the people that hold differently. I don't want to give up lox, bagel and cream cheese if i don't have to, and I don't want to be accused (or guilty) of picking and choosing opinions that suit me.
