Question
Does flour require a hechsher? Not just regular wheat flour but, say, chickpea flour? I was looking to make Indian pakora which requires chickpea flour but I had a hard time finding any with a hechsher. If not, why not?

Answered by Chaim Yisrael Abadiif it is 100% chickpeas, why would you need a Hashgacha, unless of course you want to give Jews a parnassa (which, I may add, is a very big Mitzva). But, in your case since they didn't reach the chickpea flour companies yet, you are stuck. You must use ones that don't have a Hashgacha. CYA
