Following a rabbi

Question

Another question: what happens if you follow a rabbi, and then he moves and another rabbi comes in who has different opinions. Can you still follow the old rabbi, or are you supposed to follow the new rabbi's opinions? For example, in my friend's shul, the old rabbi said that gelatin was OK but the new rabbi says it is not. What is one to do?
