Question

A friend e-mailed me these questions. Since he is not yet religious I hope you can give some easy straight forward answers (as usuall) 1) Why is chicken considered "meat" , it is categorized as "fowl", with respect to being kosher? 3) Why 10 men specifically for a Minyan?

1. It is a Machlokes in the Gemara but we hold it is like meat, but only M'derabanan. 3. It is a Gemarah in B'rachos page 21 side 2, also take a look at B'rachos page 6 side 1 CYA
