Glatt

Question

Is it only Sephardim who must eat glatt? I heard that even meats that the OU says are glatt are not really glatt. Do you know anything about this?

I have my concerns in general about OU's honesty. All people should strive to eat Glatt, however within reason. For an example, if a person is eating bugs in their vegetables, but also strict to eat only Glatt meat, they need adjustments on a certain part of the brain that causes them to see crooked. I'm sure that if a person were to choose between not carrying in a city Eiruv, or only eating Glatt, then he should choose the Eiruv first. On the other hand if the person has the whole package of rules in check, even though he/she may not be perfect, then Glatt is an important restriction that they should accept, if available. If and/or when Hebrew National either goes to full Glatt, or sells a Glatt product, I'm confident that it will be more reliable than most of the stuff out there, including the so-called "Chassideshe Shechita."
