Glatt Kosher
Question
Why do the rules of Glatt Kosher not apply to chicken? As of what time will all Hebrew Nat'l products be OK to purchase from stores? Being that Triangle-K is for some reason not accepted by (apparently most) Orthodox Jews. will it really benefit Heb Nat'l to have Triangle-K supervision?

Answered by Aaron Abadi1) Glatt is related to the lungs of an animal, not a chicken. 2) Any with a Triangle-K Hashgachah is OK right now, under the Hashgacha of Rabbi Ralbag. 3) The motivation was to have strict Kosher standards, not marketing. However, there will be many more people eating it, since it has a more nationally accepted Hashgacha. Let's not believe all the rumors said about everyone, that could have easily been spread in order to get an account from them. So far from my experiences, I've seen much more Yiraat Shamayim (God-fearing) from Rabbi Ralbag than I've ever seen at the OU. Look at that sequence of emails about soft cheeses. They pretty clearly confirmed that they have no specific Heter (law to permit it). They said that they'll look into it. Yet they didn't immediately fly a Mashgiach (Supervisor) out to the plant, in the interim, until they can determine the law. Then they got a Heter. What were the chances of them determining that it was not permitted? If you want to worry about Hechsherim (Supervising agencies), I would worry about the OU. AA
