Question
Does gum have to have a hechsher at all? Not just wrigleys- all gum? I thought i understood from your father's sefer that like toothpaste and mouthwash, gum does not need a hechsher? did i read wrong? I see you wrote in another post that you are not sure if al gum is kosher but if it doesnt need a hechsher then...

Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiWhere in my father's sefer did you understand it from. My father says that gum base and softeneners do not need to be kosher. They are not edible. I don't remember anything about a Hechsher. We can't say all gums are kosher. It depends what the other ingredients are. I think you may have misread. CYA
