Question

Does gum have to have a hechsher at all? Not just wrigleys- all gum? I thought i understood from your father's sefer that like toothpaste and mouthwash, gum does not need a hechsher? did i read wrong? I see you wrote in another post that you are not sure if al gum is kosher but if it doesnt need a hechsher then...

Where in my father's sefer did you understand it from. My father says that gum base and softeneners do not need to be kosher. They are not edible. I don't remember anything about a Hechsher. We can't say all gums are kosher. It depends what the other ingredients are. I think you may have misread. CYA
