Question

1) My teacher will asign an important "task" (essay)on the night of simchas torah, which I have one week to complete. I'm I allowed to walk over to the (law) school, on simchas Torah, and ask the teacher what that assignment is? 2) Am I allowed to study on Yom Tov?
