Hamozie MeChaveiro Alav HaRa'ayah! Why are you resposible to listen to every rumour or speculation. Let them give you real facts or don't let them waste everybody's time. There were clear facts about bugs in vegetables and it took most of Judiasm over 20 years and it's still a serious problem. But those same people keep dispensing rumours in order to justify their own existence, thus continue filling their coffers. If there were real information, we welcome it completely and will immediately take steps to publicize the truth as painful as it may be. The following are some basic explanations of the items that you mentioned. Aaron Abadi Citric acid! It is one of a series of compounds involved in the physiological oxidation of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates to carbon dioxide and water (see tricaboxylic acid cycle). First isolated from lemon juice by a Swedish chemist, Carl Wilhelm Scheele, in 1784, citric acid is manufactured by fermentation of cane sugar or molasses in the presence of a fungus, Aspergillus niger. It is used in confections and soft drinks (as a flavoring agent), in metal-cleaning compositions, and in improving the stability of foods and other organic substances (by suppressing the deleterious action of dissolved metal salts)." _____________________________________________ Dextrose: Dextrose is glucose sugar refined from corn starch. Dextrose is a sweetener and a readily available source of energy. Dextrose is produced by the enzyme conversion of corn starch and then refined by ion-exchange demineralization. _______________________________________________ Glucose: one of a group of carbohydrates known as simple sugars (monosaccharides). Glucose (from Greek glykys; “sweet”) has the molecular formula C6H1 2O6. It is found in fruits and honey and is the major free sugar circulating in the blood of higher animals. It is the source of energy in cell function, and the regulation of its metabolism is of great importance (see fermentation; gluconeogenesis… ___________________________________________
