Hashavas Aveidah?

Rabbi Abadi, My wife recently found a $100 bill on the ground between her parked car and the sidewalk on a side residential street. She did not see anybody on the street, and the $100 bill had no distinctive markings. Is this $100 considered a lost object? Can she use this money for purchases? Toda Raba, Eliezer
