Hilchot shabbos

Question

What is the problem with using a hand moisterizer on shabbos? If I am not mistaken, people claim mimachek. When the gemara discusses this halacha, it was due to clogging barrels, they wanted to substance to remain, I don't care to have the cream on my hands, I want it rubbed in and no longer existent. I don't understand why it would be asur.

Who here said it is assur? The only time it is assur, is if it is being used for medical reasons. However, if it used for preventive reasons, it is okay. (ie. if your hands are okay now, you can use the cream to keep it that way) CYA
