Hot water heater and deodorant

Dear Aaron: You had mentioned in a previous post that if you lower your Hot water tank to below 125 degrees around 1 1/2 - 2 hours before then you can use the hot water on Shabbos. 1.Can you lower it on Shabbos itself and wait the couple hours or must this be done before Shabbos. 2. You said that you can use deodorant on Yom Kippur but I saw in Ohr Yitzchok "Neerah lee ksicha". Was your father chozer? Thanks for everything.

Chanan, how r u? 1. it would depend on the type of hot water heater. 2. My father was originally not 100% sure as you quoted, but he has since been chozer. He says it would be Muttar. The new Teshuva will be in Chellek 2. take care, CYA
