Hot Water on Shabbat

Question

1) Why is the replacement of water in a boiler considered "lo nicha leih". It would seem that this is true in an apartment building, where you will probably not be the person who benefits from the new hot water. But in a private home, you are the one who will eventually utilize the heated water, so why isn't it "nicha leih"? 2) Also, I heard that apartment building boilers only refill intermittently, and that, as a result, the heating of water as a result of one's particular use of the sink is NOT a pesik reshe - it may or may not happen and is dependent on numerous unpredictable factors. According to this, the only thing you would need to worry about would be the actual admixture of cold and hot water that YOU are making when you turn on the faucet which, if I understand correctly, would not be a problem provided you don't heat the water past yad soledet. Have you heard anything about this?

Let's drop the hot water issue. It's taking away from everyone's questions on other issues. The Halachah was said. All those that would like to follow, enjoy. Nothing personal against you specifically, we just keep getting tens of hot water discussions. It's Ok not to use hot water, too. AA
