Inactively benefiting from something on shabbat

Question

Can I use the hot water from the dud shemesh (solar panel water heater) saturday night/end of yom tov? Since I thought you can't benefit from something that was done on shabbat, I would turn the heater on for a bit :S... If you can, is there a difference between shabbat and yom tov?
