Indedible
Question
1) What constitutes something as inedible? You said fish food is ok for pesach if inedible, but do I have to crush the flakes into a powder for it to have the status of inedible or can I give it to them as flakes (I don’t think people would have a kazayit of it). Also, what about dog food. Humans can eat it, but the normal person won’t eat it? 2) What constitutes something as "eino ra'uy le'achilat kelev?” For example, cosmetics have wheat in them, but do we say that it is eino ra'uy because the kelev wont have the lipstick, or do we say that when you break it down into individual ingredients the kelev wont have the certain ingredient that is chametz. can I just pour detergeant on chametz and say its eino ra'uy? Please clarify. A certain Rabbi's annual digest has me very confused.

Answered by Aaron AbadiA certain Rabbi IS very confused....LOL Don't crush the flakes. If people don't eat it because it has no taste or tastes bad, it's inedible. Cardboard is inedible. Plain gelatin is inedible. Calf skin is inedible, as are alligator shoes. Whey is inedible. AA
